got tired of slopping bondo everywhere but in ear so i devised a rather easy way to fix it - went to walmart and got some throw away cake dedorator bags - they are shaped like a funnel but the funnel end is closed off - i mix the bondo and slop it all in the bag - then i close the top like im going to decorate a cake - then i cut the end off of the bottom and stick it all the way to the bottom (top) of the ear and guje it out - NO MESS - then i throw away the decorator bag - cost is 33 cents a bag

Try this method. Trun the ear part of the way inside out, dump all the bondo you want in there, and then invert the ear and shape as usual. The cost? Common sense (cents). Try that too, Terry, and nice idea with the icing bags...guys use that for clay and mache too.
i hardly ever make a mess using bondo unless i get
in a hurry. if being in a hurry is causing you to make
a mess try using less hardner. it will give you some
extra time to get it in without making a mess. it will
take a little longer to set. you can spend extra time
cleaning up bondo or making money. i choose the latter.
I do the same thing with bondo and a paste made out of resin filled with fumed silica. Only I sue a ziploc bag... dump your mix in - sip it closed and snip off the corner... works liek a charm and you just toss it out after yer done. VERY affordable way to make your own piping bag. And for anyone interested in cake decorating... yes it works for icing too - you just dont get the same fancy designs ;)
When filling ears I mix my bondo up on a paper plate. Roll the paper plate up like a barrito and slide into ear. Then just push all the bondo down through the plate into the ear.
I use plastic sacks from Wal-Mart or Grocery Stores and mix bondo in them and cut a small hole and squeeze out under antler plates.
My wife works in a pharmacy and brings me home syringes of all sizes . Cut off the top , dip it into mineral spririts suck up your bondo and fill your ear . No mess, No hassle .
You just made my life easier. Been using a case knife to try to ease the gob into the opening. Always the shakes made a mess, unless I had a helper to hold the ear open. Now I think I can do it by myself. TNX AGN

I tear out a page from an old taxidermy catalog. Slop the bondo mixture onto this and then roll it up so the paper end is about the size of a quarter. Partially invert the ear, stick it in, uninvert the ear, and start squeezing. This is someone else's idea and I copied it. It works great....Steve
