Inner tube suggestions-cape streching

Submitted by The Rookie on 01/15/2004. ( NaturesTrophies@aol ) 64.12.96.202

I remember hearing about using a lawn tractor inner tube for streching a rehydrated cape over night. My question is. I was at the tractor supply today and there are so many different sizes. 13-16" seem to stick in my mind the most. Anybody have a suggested size tube that has worked well for you? This is a commercially(K&K) dry tanned cape, by the way. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanx- Jeff F.

Try this

Try using one of those plastic balls or maybe a soccer ball. Deflate it and put it in the neck and just air it up. Be careful not to over inflate though.

Try switching tans or tanneries

If you are having this much problem with stretch, I would re-evaluate your tan or tannery. Your measurement technique may be off a little.

for the suggestions. I'm quite happy with my tannery but had heard of this method for restoring the full stretch of the cape. Guess I'll try some different stuff at this point. Good Day- Jeff F.
