i am planning on mounting a deer for competition for the first time in a couple of years and i have been searching the archives for the newest trics and tips. I am working on getting some really good refrence of course but what are people useing for septums and how deep do i need to make the detail. i usually just use the speed septums for my comericial mounts and finishing with apoxie sculpt and paint. any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated

There is so much you can read here and it dont cover the beginning of what you can do. Maybe you need to visit your state show to see!

If you have not been to a show, do what it take to get to the nearest big show. You will see some great work, that just cannot be explained here.

Bring your best deer to the show. After it has been judged go through the score sheet with the judge to see how it could be improved. Having a critique on your work by some of the finest in their field I have found to be more helpful than anything. You have to go in to these shows that you are there to learn.

offer a replacement WT nose that costs under $10. Available through WASCO. Might be something worth looking into. Good Luck- Jeff F.
