antler repair

Submitted by G. Tanner on 01/21/2004. ( ) 66.156.126.215

I use Sculpt-All to repair broken tines.I am having trouble finding stain to blend with the real antlers. When I find stain to match the color of the antlers, you can still see the Sculpt-All.Any suggestions on staining or other methods of fixing broken tines.

thanks,
G Tanner

I use a walnut stain and add some peat moss in it and rub it in good.It leaves stuff in the cracks that looks like they have been rubbing on trees. It colors them well.

In order to stain it, you need to mix the paint in as you combine the two parts. That's why I use Epo-Grip Antler Repair. You can sand it and it readily accepts stain as no other epoxy.

Just use paint instead of stain... dead easy =)
