I am wondering if anyone can give me a review on hidemaster epoxy for tanning whitetail shoulder mounts,I am currently using a water based hide paste. I am also wondering about the proper humidity for drying shoulder mounts. And one more can you properly flesh waterfowl with a scissors.

Thank You

I use Epo-Grip, its very spreadable and holds the shape you put into it. Takes 4 to 8 hours to set up. I like the extended working time! You can push it around under the skin like clay!

Once the glue and mount is dry I can tell you the skin is not moving
skin from the form, its there for ever. I recently took the antlers off two of my older mounts done with Epo-Grip 2 PART and damn near could not remove them, I had to chisel the skin from around the antlers.

This was after soaking the skin, I then had to buff th3e excess dried Epo-Grip off with a drum on my Dremal too.

I know for a fact you can mount a deer using Epo-Grip, ear liners and Apoxie sculpt for ear butts on Sunday and deliver it on Wed. I did and enetered the WTC with the head, to date nothing has changed on that head, its still exactly where I put it! The skin has not moved even and 1/16th of an inch.

I can tell you about HIDEMASTER as I dont see being able to do the deatail work with it, its thin or the batch I tried two years ago was thin it has a smell that lingers a bit. Very much like Lock tite did. Not my choice with a Better product availible.

I tried Hidemaster when it first came out it was so
thin I dumped half a can on the floor. But they made it
thicker shortly after that.I always follow the advice I
heard at a taxidermy show back in 1990 to always try a
product three times before you give up on it. Sometimes
that theory pays off and sometimes it dont but in my case it
payed off big time. IF you sand the form good Hidemaster
is hard to beat, I cant imagine anything that works better,
give it a try if you dont like it try something else. whatever
you choose you will find what works best for you.GOOD LUCK
