First time useing bondo method & second deer head. My question is do you have to use the resin mixed with the bondo? And how much hardner to mix? One more thing the bondo that I have use in the pass on boats and stuff it generates a lot of heat will this hurt the hair or hide of the deer. I would be gratefull for any help thanks.

You dont want it mixed hot.

A little more than a golf ball sized bondo, the resin will help make the bondo smoother, espcially if you are adding the chopped fiberglass.

You may want to use 1/2 inch length of hardener for slower and cooler set up. I also use denatured alcohol wetting down the outside of the ear, this lets you finger slid over the ears reducing friction and it helps keep the ear cooler while it sets.

John thanks for your response but do you have to add the resin or the chopped fiberglass or can you just use the bondo and hardner?

add resin and chop

this method is done this way for a reason so do what everyone else does. both of those ingredents at strength to the ear. your going to end up with a thin layer of material in the ear and if it is just bondo it will crack most likly
