During my tanning process of a Whitetail when I am done tanning the hide and want the hide to dry, I staple my cape out on a board and put fans on them to dry. During the drying process I noticed that most of the area around the nose tore. I must have had the hide pulled to tight when I stapled and when the hide started drying it tore the hide from around the nose. The tear looks pretty clean and not real jagged. What are the ways that I can fix this? Has anyone out there ever done this? Any help would be appreciated.. Thank You.

Well are you planning on mounting this cape or just to lay out on floor or sumthing. Well if it is for mounting get some clear thread and sew it up with small very small stitches.
why would you staple a cape to a board for it to dry?
Just mount it the way it is, then put some fine pins to close it, then super glue the edges with some zap a gap, and it holds good, if stitching it wont' do.
