Mounting, a European Mount.......?

Submitted by David Tuley on 02/13/2004. ( ) 12.96.0.90

I have some skulls boiled out and bleached, but I am not sure how I want to attach them to the panels I have ordered? There are two pedestal style panels, and one flat panel. But all 3 have a flat surface to attach the skull to.......

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Just drill a hole in the back of the panel somewhere that it will line up with the bone just in front of the hole where the spinal cord ran to the brain then drill a smaller hole in the skull and run a drywall screw into that

David,
Drill a 3/8" hole in the skull right in front of the spinal cord whole.
Drill a hole the same size in the panel where they will meet up.
then just insert a 3/8" bolt into the brain cavity hole (head first) pull the bolt down through the hole you drilled in the skull. Then push the bolt through the panel hole. Add a washer and a nut and tighten down.

Rob a drywall screw alone is not enough support for the skull.

David T, I cut small thin blocks of wood, mix a little bondo and seal the wood blocks in the skull for anchors. Drill 3 holes thru panel countersink the holes on the back, attatch skull with proper screws. When positioned properly for a level look this makes a very solid and easy euro mount. Need more? See the search button- Enjoy, Aaron H.
