I mounted up a whitetail yesterday and i went to check up on everything today and noticed that in the armpit area there was a tuft of hair sticking out, so when i tried to brush it back in place and that didn't work so i used my fingers and that tuft pulled right out! So I heard that when something slips huge patches come out or noticable amounts of hair. Just wondering if i was being paranoid or is this normal...

If the hair pulls out in a clump it is slipping.Put a fan on the mount,and don't pull on the hair.It should be ok when dry.
