'super short' incision-- opinions?

Has anyone here tried the extra-short incision mentioned in the current Taxidermy Today? I see it involves using a chisel, which i worry might prove to be enough hassle to offset the reduced sewing. I'll probably give it a shot next season, but wanted to solicit some opinions.

I use this short incision on my personal competiton mounts. For customers I still go with the standard Y cut about 2 to 3 inches long.

The increased time to chisel out the skull plate is not worth it for customers mounts especially since they won't be judged.

But that is just my personal opinion.

As a judge, I see more truoble getting earbutts correct BECAUSE of some of these types of incisions, than I do with the seams. The lesser of two evils, you might say. Personally, I never cared for the shorter incisions in commercial work, as they never save me any time in the long run. Many people prefer it, though.
