The Joe Meder series deer eye is a definite improvement on the IQ in a number of ways. Tohickon offers it with two different styles of limbus banding. McKenzie only carries their 650XB (extra brown limbus). However you can order the eye with less of that limbus directly from Tohickon. Just specify you are looking for a 650NB. The brown color of the iris most certainly varies from region to region within the same species, and also throughout different times of year. This may be due to climate and/or diet changes. As well as offering the 650 series eye (Joe Meder) with and without extra brown toning in the limbus area, they also offer it in a light color (color code: LIG), a medium color (code: DEE) and a dark color (code: ANT). If you order from a supplier, most likely you will receive a 650XB032.DEE.00 -- which is a 650 series with eXtra Brown, 32mm DEEr or medium color. If you order direct the folks at Tohickon can offer you six options per size.
Hope this helps I learned much from looking into it. Oh yeah And thanks to those I e-mailed and responded with helpful info.
