competition mount

I am planning on entering my first competition this year. The deer I will be using has an odd shaped drop tine on one of his antlers. I would like to mount him rubbing the drop tine against a small tree or branch. Would the eye position be to hard to master for someone who has never competed? Im going for the realy relaxed eyes. Seems to be a fine line between relaxed and sleepy. Anyone know where I could find good reference material for this look?
