Hopefully Bill, George and I are good at this point.
Hopefully, we are all good at this point; let's learn taxidermy together.
Nuff said.
Thanks

Hello Taxidermists,
This is what it's ALL about isn't it? I'm just got online at home-not just at school. No I'm not a high-schooler-I finished that 24 years ago.Been layed off at the plant job and gone back to school.LOL!At this college that I'm going to full-time I was informed that all the classes I've taken in the Taxidermy field at a "Fully Accredited Community College" are not applicable or transferrable to their program. I have 10 years of formal education(at school and in 1-on-1 situations)in Taxidermy and as a Habitat Specialist.I've even been told by the local Employment Security Commission that they don't consider these as "viable job fields"...OH WELL! I'm doing what I enjoy at home(Taxidermy and Habitat construction), while majoring in Business Administration at the local comunity college-I just wish the"commission's" views were different so I could further my education in something that I will eventually use as my primary job. No, I'm not whinning or crying over spilt milk..just wishing.. In the mean time ya'll just keep asking those questions, because the more angles we get on a subject(answers)the better we'll be for it! And forget about lobbying for deleting this forum. My granddaughters are asking the same questions everyone out there has asked at some time or another, and I'm doing the best I can to steer them in the right direction. I've told them about Taxidermy.net as a great source for info and they both visit it regularly on my computer(with me there)-and requested that I set up an e-mail address for them. The thing is, they are 7&8 years old(and can already mount squirrels very well),ask intelligent questions, and I don't want them(because of their age or question context)to be answered as if they don't need to know what they are asking.I want a supportive and encouraging alliance, such as I know Taxidermists are on the whole, to give honest and helpful answers-no matter what the age or learning stage the questioner is at. We practice this in our studio,home-and in life in general. I mean, if we don't take ourselves seriously-who will? Be constructive and help people in the field, afterall-you were there once yourself. in
I personally treat every visitor here with as much respect as possible. I do understand the sentiments of some other who get tired of rehashing the same thing over and over again. Tell your grandchildren to be sure to put there age after their name. And I guarantee with the possible exception Of Jay. There Is NO ONE here that will say anything to make them feel bad, of hurt their feelings. We all look upon the innocents of youth differently than we do adults that should have common sense. Any post directed at me will be answered with due consideration to the posters age, If I know it. Children are our future. Great to see them interested in Taxidermy at such an early age.
We who frequent this site and know about the orange 'search' button need also remember there are many people that come to this site via a direct link, which doesn't show the buttons/icons on the left. We need to remember to be polite when directing them to it. Yes, there are a LOT of repeated questions/comments, sometimes just a day or so apart, but we need to remember not EVERYONE reads ALL the posts on a daily basis. I know I don't. I just don't have the time.
The 'Golden Rule' should be followed more often on this site, too. And "If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all."...especially on a forum for all to see.
=)
It's so nice of ya'll to encourage the youth involved with Tqaxidermy. Brandy and Montana(my granddaughters) said to tell you "thank-you", and that they will follow your advice about stating their ages in with their names when posting a question. They often use the "orange button", but are curious as to whether someone has come-up with a better answer,or may be someone coming to the site for the first time and has a new slant on the answer. Be talking with ya'll later- Susan,Brandy, and Montana.
