I sent a money order to McKenzie a couple weeks ago (Feb 27th), and the money order got lost!
Called McKenzie (VERY nice folks at McKenzie) and they said they hadn't received it. They even did some extra research on it for me in other areas of the company it may have gone to or been routed to.
Nothing!
After getting off the phone with McKenzie, I called the money order customer service to do a "Stop Payment" and they ran a check and said that no one has cashed it yet, and said it would take 30 days to get my money back on this.
AAAaaaAARRRGH! 30 days!
Last time I pay for anything with money orders!
But the folks at McKenzie were very nice. From now on it will be check by phone (they do not charge for this and do not access your bank account for 7 days).

I think all the bigger supply houses should get on the checking access plan that McKenzie offers. I am sick of paying the high prices to UPS and then $7.50 for COD.
If it would have been a money order from the post office;it takes 60 days to get it from them.
UPS usually does pretty good on delivering to us, but I'll NEVER order-to be delivered by Priority Mail AGAIN! Here I paid for a rush order of deer eyes to be delivered to our shop...Only to find out that the rural mail carriers aren't "required" to deliver if the driveway is over 1/2 a mile long(ours is 6/10's of a mile long...) needless to say the Postmaster got an earful after I had to drive 15 miles(oneway) to pick-up my order-TWO DAYS LATER! Nothing was said about refunding the extra money I'd paid for the rush delivery either..

if their service is available in your area and the supply house area. They are sometimes half the price of UPS and just as fast.
Why not just charge the order to a credit card? This is the best way to go. Most cards don't charge any interest for a grace period, so if you pay the bill on time, it doen't cost you anything extra. If you use some cards like Discover, they actually pay you a percentage of your charges to use them.
