I happened onto this site by accident. I found 2 locked bucks this past week. No porcipine marks on either. Both buck should be around 150-160 (1 is a 6X6 the other is a 6x7, both about 20" wide). Im thinking about mounting them both as skulls on a pedestal. I have seen pictures and mounts but this is my first time ever finding one on my own or seeing one first hand. I would be interested in what kind of price locked bucks might fetch. No! I am not interested in selling them. The taxiderists I have spoken with have made offers. What is a realistic value? Any thoughts

It depends. These are fairly rare. To most people they do not want these but some collectors are really interested in these. They sound like they are nice bucks. I just mounted two for a guy last year, my first set that I mounted locked up. They turned out really well. Both had open mouths, I made a table to display them, they were both shoulder mounts with pedistal backs added. The customer was really satisfied with them. I only charged him $1000 because I wanted to do them, a new challenge. If I were to do another set I would charge around 1600 depending on how they were locked. There is a lot of work involved with these. Most work is in form prep so they look right. Back to the question, I would think that if you could find the right buyer you could get $500 or more for the locked set. Check e-bay on this. Good luck.
I'll give you 500.00 each as long as both skulls are complete..I would like to see some pictures if possible even if not for sale..EARL
