I was in Kansas City last week at Cabela's and was in awe at the mule deer display. I only assumed they were all real but can't say for sure. Can anyone answer this for me , just curious. Thanks....Skullery.....Jeff...<><

From what I understand, all the antlers in the Cabella's stores are repros.
There are alot of them (if not all) that are repros of record book bucks.
A large group! The top of the line Record Book Mule and White tail are in the new Hamburg,Pa Cabela store!Hundreds of them in Head and Full mount! The display is really nice and will make your chin fall when you see the Antlers!Huge on many-many Deer! Not to mention all the other assort of REAL big mounts! Go figure? All tagged where and by who! Some go back a long way!Quite a few stores and I only know the new display is Huge Antlers!?Richie
It says so if you read the fine print by the door.
It seems to be that everyone assumes that all of the antlers are reproductions. Many of them are not. All of the mounts in Kansas City are real. The lifesize mule deer museum - all are real. Hamburg - all the lifesize whitetail are real. There are some in Hamburg that are reproductions.
a Cabelas add in Breakthrough a couple years ago. I talked on the phone with the contact guy and was told that they weren't interested in reproductions because "Dick doesn't care for reproductions".
I have been In several Cabela's stores and seen the same antlers on deer. When I go to the Dundee store there is a life-size of the hole in the horn Buck. The real set is on a shoulder mount. I have seen it on display after going to Dundee. Then when I went back. There he was again. Ole Mossy horn was there too on a life-size. Don't know about the lesser bucks, But a lot of the big boys are repos One may not be able to tell all the time. But I can usually pick out repos.
