In trouble

I killed a doe last archery season, I decided to mount it, when I killed it, I noticed on the backs of both ears was a rubb line going from bottom to top in the center, like she was rubbing trees or something it actually had a callased build up. When I split the ears the skin was so thin on the rubbed area it was like membrane it just tore loose and stayed on the cartlidge so I have hide missing on the back of each ear.

Any suggestions from anyone who be greatly appreciated

if you don't want to replace the ears or the areas, leave them. I would suggest putting the ears forward since the damage is in the back. That way the ears won't be a focal point.

What you can do is if you have an extra hide you can cut a piece of ear to fit the hole and then "zap a gap" it to this doe it should cover up your missing hair and then blend great when you brush it down if cut and glued correctly plus its the back of the ears so you wont see it as much or be able to tell.
