I have a buck in velvet to mount. it was a september roadkill and the owner took good care of the cape but not so good care of the rack. when i recieved it, it reaked and the velvet was just starting to slip. the bulk of the odor was coming from the pound of meat and brains left on the skull cap.
i cleaned the skull cap as good as possible, and injected the velvet with the velvet tan from McKenzie per the instructions. the antlers have been hanging for a few months now and the velvet seems to be tight, so i would like to get this deer put together.
my problem is what is left of the smell. it is pretty faint and you need to be fairly close to smell it, but i just cant get it to go away. is there anything i can spray or brush on to help get rid of that slight lingering odor?
thanks everyone
