I pulled a deer head out of the freezer today that had been in thier 2 1/2 years and when I went to cape it out it's hide was hard as a rock . I let it soak for several hours . Is this freezer burn . I just trashed the cape . If this happens to me again is thier anything I can do ?

Look at Whitetail Designer systems website. Between StopRot, Hard Tissue rejuvenator and Soft tissue rejuventor, you could have saved the cape. Call Glen Conley
I just mounted a deer of my own that had been caped out and in the freezer for that long and there was no problem. I would have tried it to see how it would have worked out.
