Is there a perfered acid out there to use on a deer or fish hide? Is there a do it your self mixture out there, or is it better to buy from WASCO? Pickling is done after salting right?

harley, If you go to the orange search button to the left you can find a ton of information on tanning- very helpful. Yes, pickle after salting and rehydrating for most processes. Preferred? Yes there are MANY preferred acids available- depends on who you ask. I like Safetee Acid by Rittel. Check out the search and enjoy, Aaron H.
