Deer Hooves

Do you paint the hooves or leave them natural when you mount the hooves of a whitetail deer. I am mounting them for a gun rack. Any help would be appreciated.

I usually buff them up on my buffing wheel. You'll be suprised at the way they look when finished.

I have apoxie repairs, then just alittle paint to blend. Buffing them really brings the color out nicely.

Lightly sand them and buff with plastic polish

I use a sewn 8 inch cotton flannel wheel, and DICO plastic polish, work the best of all the methods I have seen.
