Which eyes are most common in todays competition mounts? I like the j.meder eyes in my comm. mounts but find it nearly impossible to show the white band in the back of the eye. I guess im using them right, im placing the thicker of the white band [with the viening] in the front. Open to any suggestions or tips.

i use the hilton epply pre rotated eye,you can't go wrong use an eye desinged by a master like hilton epply
The bubble is towards the front on that eye. Nothing wrong with Eppley's eyes, but maybe freddy should do a little checking to see what Joe Meder brings to the table as well. The Meder eye will work just fine for you. It's not so much the glass as the magic needed to rotate them properly and correctly that makes a competition piece what it is.
If the bubble is towards the front, then the veining and thicker w.scleral band is in the back. leaving practicaly no white in the front. Is that correct?
Just look at the eyes from the side. The front of the eye is the the area tilted forward. You are correct the white is towards the back..
