Has anyone used tung oil on there deer antlers for finishing? I have seen all the questions and answers on linseed oil and laquer, but nothing for tung oil.

Tung oil is used in finer furniture for its drying ability more than it's penetration. It works similar to Neat's Foot Oil in that it forms a "candy coating". On an antler, I like the penetration properties of oils extracted from local native trees over the imported stuff.

Thanks

Thanks for your response George, I guess I'll stick with the linseed oil.
