Container for peroxide around skull?

Hello
I'm having a problem finding the right shape container to fill with hydrogen
peroxide to bleach a whitetail skull with the antlers. I am using an aluminum
baking pan but I need a ton of liquid to fill it up. I have placed rags over
the skull that is not immersed to keep it damp. Will the rags take care
of bleaching the top part or do I need to have the entire skull immersed?
thanks
John

I use a small plastic washpan

I put the skull inside of a small kitchen trash bag, like a 2 gal or 3 gal size, take white paper towels and lay all over the skull, push the towels in the eye sockets, etc. and then pour the peroxide over the paper towels saturating them. I use one big bottle that I buy at Walmart. I then pull the bag tight around the antler burrs and clothes pin it shut so the peroxide doesn't evaporate. Works fine for me.

The plastic bag and towels

sounds great. However if you have to use a hard container of some sort and find that its too big for the amount of H202 you have, or want to spend money on.....clean some rocks and place them in the pan first and that will take up a lot of space. Or if you like, clean some gravel real well, place the skull in the pan, fill it up with gravel and then pour the H202 in. This should work.

Why are you doing all that?

It sounds as if you're using 3% peroxide, and though I KNOW it will work, it's really spitting in the wind. You can buy the correct supplies at a local beauty supply or your local salon. You can eaven buy a KIT for less than $10 at Walmart and save yourself the aggravation. It's called Ultra-Blue by Clairol and you can find it in the ladies hair color section. One kit will do the job. OR use the 40% gel and magnesium carbonate(name brand Basic White) mixture. PAINT IT ON without all the goat rope and let it set for 20-30 minutes, wash off, done deal.

Thanks

Thanks for the good advise. Sometimes the simple answers are
right in front of your nose and you dont see them.

I am using 40% but have mixed 1 small bottle of 3% to get the
needed volume. The paste is great for the outside but I still
have to whiten the inside areas that are visible.
thanks again
John
