i was looking for a few WT capes and heres a reply i got today from someone answering my post on here.................
"I have a few that would work for you. price would be $95.00 for each capes, $65.00 for each cape to be tanned, and about $35.00 for shipping. I would be interesed in trading you a white tail cape for a mule deer cape if you have one in good condition, about 20+".
Please email me if you are interested."
is this guy proud of his capes or what? 65.00 each for tanning!?!

seems to me that about the going rate for a tanned and thinned cape from a raw state is about $65-$70. thats the prices i have found for a good quality tan and reliable shaving job.
$65 is exactly what i have been paying. sending the capes frozen and getting them back with everything detailed and ready to put in the ears.
so it looks like he is asking $195 for each cape. i would say that they would have to be mighty big before i would spend that much on one. he may think about coming down on the price for the cape itself.
personally i charge $75 for most average sized capes when a customer needs one replaced. they still pay full price for the shoulder mount so the tanning and processing costs are still covered.
Bill and ****, He is selling the cape for $95, then another $65 to flesh, turn the lips, eyes, ears and nose and then it needs to be tanned. That is well worth $65. I sell lots of raw capes for $75 to $125.
**** - You are charging your customers $75 for a replacement cape, This guy wants $95. Not much difference!
for restating my point. i was trying to say that his price is not too far off.
I think $65 is a lot to tan a cape. I pay $32 for the best professional tan I have ever seen. But on the other hand, $95 for the green cape seems cheap, if the capes are quality. I paid $175 for large Canadian WT capes, salted. Tell him you'll pay $110 salted and tan it yourself.
Better yet, there are lots of capes out there, find someone who has what you want and don't complain about someonelse's prices. I just hate it when someone asks for a price and then proceeds to tell me how wrong I am to charge that much.
