with a rack like that and a gun in my hand I would have done the humane thing and put him out of his missery. I did however cut a nice 10 point that would have scored around 145 out of a fence onece.

Man, the right thing to do would be to cut him free, but with a rack like that it would be tough to do. I would have photographed him and cut him free. Then I would hunt that area hard next year and maybe catch up with him again while he is running free with an even bigger rack....Nice to dream huh?

I would have shot him, made up the best story I could think of, put him in my truck, and head for town.

...the buck wasn't doing very well and most likely wouldn't survive if cut loose. Personally, I would have done the humane thing and put him out of his misery. And, that would've been my story too (It's legal right?)...
