cleaning poop from a hairly tanned cowhide

My dog had the runs all over my beautiful cowhide. How would I clean this? Thanks for all responses.

Try soap and water first . Did you do anything yet or is it all dried on now which will make it even harder to clean ? Rick

Just shampoo it. Use what you use on your hair-then blow dry.
