neck too small

i mounted a deer, and i think the neck is too small...by around 4 inches. really messed up. im going to remount the deer. should i rehydrate the whole deer and use new form, or should i rehydrate up to the neck, cut below the jawbone, and put and bigger form in. i figured i could make a good transition with bondo between the old neck and new form. another thing i had in mind. what if i got a bigger form, ive already cut the hide to fit the smaller manakin, when i get a bigger form, will the hide be too short. any ideas. thanks a bunch

did you measure the cape to see what size form you needed in the first place? if the cape fit the form nicely then you have the right one.

i dont think you realize what you are saying....but you are getting into way more trouble than it is probably worth if you think you will rehydrate the skin and just put a new form in.

good luck with it.

and yes, the whole cape will likely be too short
