im having a hard time finding a form for a big deer. as a rule, i mount on meders forms and occasionally McKenzies. but i have a buck that will comfortably fit a 24" form. and to top it off (i hate this part most) the client wants it in a straight forward upright, no turn.
so far, WASCO is the only company i can find with a form that is big enough. so i was wondering if any one had some input about the 8500 series sculpted by Noonkester and johnson. have you mounted on any? what did you like or dislike about them.
and if you dont have any experience with that series. do you have any sources for giant forms like that?
thanks a lot guys

also look into Joe Coombs forms. They mount up easily and really do have good definition. He has one about that size. Good Luck! Jeff F.
You might want to call WASCO and make sure the form is available. I tried to order a form from the catalog today and they said it wasn't sculpted yet. Real pisser cause it was a size I had a heck of a time coming up with. (7,17,17 upright) Had to go through 6 catalogs to find that one. Got desperate and ordered a Van Dykes. No disrespect meant to WASCO. Just one of those days. And then there was a great night waiting at the full time job.........Peace- Jeff F.

ben mears supply has big forms
he didnt have any in straights that would work. i have mounted on a few coombs forms in the past and the only things i didnt like were the eyeset and the shoulder width. i really had to rasp down the back of the eye to get a proper set. and the shoulders always seemed to be too wide at the points for the size of the deer.
and i happened upon ben mears' website last night after i made that post. he has a straight upright that has a 23 1/2" neck that i think will work. ive never mounted on any of his forms but what i saw on his site looked pretty decent.
thanks for your help guys, if anyone else has any ideas ill check back again later
Ben Mears has big forms.
If you ever mount on one of ben mears forms you most likely will do it again! They are great!
best get used to it, i find the change out heads for about 12-13 dollars work well, and cheaper than cutting off and adding to nose lenghts, just part of doing correct taxidermy. good luck
How is buying and installing a change-out head cheaper then making the nose length longer/shorter? And why is that not correct taxidermy?
Check out a Hilton Eppley form or a Buckeye Mannikin from McKenzie.
