Please, I would appreciate some input on which technique and why you prefer to use it. Whether it is casting rigid inner detail, latex casting or rebuilding with epoxy.Thank you very much, Tom

It depends on the species I guess

The technique I use really depends on the species. The two species that I do more OM work on than any other are bobcats and hogs. With Bobcats, I prefer to use the new Cast Lip mouth system that McKenzie has. You can order forms with this already in them (only a few poses) or what I usually end up doing is buying the change out head with the cast lip system in it for aroun $63 I believe. There is very little finish work to the mouth at all using this system, just glue the skin to the lip line with zap-a-gap and then use a very small amount of Apoxie Sculpt to blend the line. Shoot a little bit of black unmber over the apoxie and paint the nose, voila done!

For hogs I have been using the Rick Carter mannikins and jawsets, these things are great. They do require a bit of Apoxie Scuplt to blend the lip lines with the inner cheeks but other than that, very quick and easy to use.

Of course these are my customer mounts, not any type of competition mount so that my sway your decision.
