Dry preserve Whitetail deer

I would like some pointers on dry preserving whitetail deer. I currently use dry preserve on all of my mounts. I would like better detail and consistency in the eyes and ears. Drumming of the ears and slipping of the epidermise around the eyes occur occasionally. I have had one cap slip after washing it. For those of you who are successful using this method, what is your routine. I have only been in business for two years and I have not worked out all of the bugs out of this dry preserve method.

Thanks for your help!

The "bugs" aren't ever going to be a problem, but the shrinkage will be unless you're using a GREAT epoxy based hide adhesive. The only "secret" to doing a deer with DP is to have it fresh and work it fresh. Do NOT let it set overnight or try to freeze/thaw cycle it a couple times. This is asking for BIG problems. Your ear liners will drum less if you make SURE that they fit . Ovesized earliners spell trouble from the start. For your eyes to be better, you're going to have to use the epoxy putties instead of clay (i.e. Apoxy Sculpt, etc.)

Been there' done that
