Do you keep the checkin tags on game animals brought in for mounting or do you just write down the checkin tag no on your invoice?
Last year I kept the tags and some of my customers complaned about it so I made a copy (I live in wv).
what do you all do?

Alot of my clients who hunt around here are out of state. DNR scratched thier heads (they all have thier own interpretations of the law) and said it's probably best to send the game tag with the meat incase they get checked, and yes keep all the possession information on your signed receipt including game tag numbers, sounds like your doing good. You should give DNR a call on any legalities, they will be glad to talk to you.
last year the DNR told me that the tags must be on the antlers of deer if you have them in your possion if that helps any by the way where in WV are you guys?
im a taxidermist in wv also where in wv are you guys
