When to remove a cape

Big Rookie question:

When do you remove or have a customer remove a cape from the deer?
a. Right away to prevent slippage which makes sence.
b. After they take it to get it registered by the state.
c. After it bleeds out and on the way to the meat locker.(might be to late for slippage.
d. other
Just help me answer the question plz b make sence but just checking what you guys have your customers do.

ASAP or even better, sooner! It's better for you to remove the cape assuming you know more than the average customer.

I usually remove the cape when the customer leaves me a deposit $ . Seriously , you remove as soon as they bring it to you and they shouldnt be bringing it to you if it isnt tagged . I usuall freexe all of my capes until I have time to get to them . This also gives my customers that didnt leave a deposit to bring the $ or else . Rick

Always cape it out yourself, because you need accurate measurements to order the form by.-Susan

Just want to say thanks for the feedback it helped out I knew it had to be tagged just having one of those moments. The only thing that worries me around here is if you get a deer later in the evening sometimes you need to wait til morning to get it register. I mean the hunter does have his tag on it but it needs to be registered. I just hope over night doesn't hurt the capes.

In the refrigerator overnight. If I get one in late or several at one time, thats where they go. I wouldnt keep them in for more that 3 or 4 days.
