Just got my mount back

I got my whitetail mount back today, and it looks beautiful.. The only thing I noticed that on the white patch on the bottom of his neck, 5-6 hairs are loose (by loose i mean they came out from the flow of the others), and I am wondering what I should use to get them to stay down?

Thank you.. Jason

What I have done in the past for hair sticking up is treat it like human hair kinda. Get some conditioner spray just a bit on the hair and take a wire brush like used for a dog and brush down with the hair and once it dries should be good. If it still sticks up take some screen and T pins and brush with the hair again after laying it down put screen on top and pin snug to the deer and leave it on for a while till its dry and it should stay down.

My favorite solution

Dampen a facecloth or towel and place on area with problem overnight. The leather or hide will take just enough moisture so that hair or fur can be combed next day, when you will take cloth off, and stay in place once dry again.

Also note that nature is not perfect or symetrical, even though conservative thinking states it to be.

Cloth

Will the dampened cloth cause any sort of mildew or such?

Thanks.. Jason

No it shouldnt cause mildew or mold ... as long as you let it dry back out propperly.

They're only 5 or 6 for crying out loud.
