Did you think a deer has a plate in it's skull it can remove when it moves the ears rearward? LOL

Seriously, just build your ear butt correctly (you could use some of the "ears back" liners). I cut the butts off my liners and make them with clay so I can turn them and mold them under the skin to look natural.

The deer's ears pivot and rotate at the point where the ear canal comes out of the head. I use the Buckeye ear liners and build the earbutt, but even using liners that have butts you shouldn't have to cut the form. Maybe you will have to rasp off some of the excess foam that some forms come with, but I would do that anyway.
