Just curious if there is a specific pressure washer recommended for pressure fleshing deer capes.

2900 pounds for deer and such and 1200 to 1750 for foxes and turkeys. hope it helps.
Does this method of fleshing remove the membrane also?
For the info, was told originally that I needed 3500 psi.
It will work just fine for alot of mammals.

I tried the pressure washer trick this weekend on a beaver hide and a buffalo hide. I am not sure if I did things wrong, but I didn't think that it did a very good job. Maybe not enough pressure or wrong tip.
Hip-o, I'm just going to this method this fall and am told 3,000 psi is best. Now, also was told that as the machine ages pressure may drop a bit so a unit capable of more than 3,000 would be best. Short of it is $1,000.00. That's a piece of change for sure but it ought to be strong enough for whatever you want to work on. Just my thoughts, Aaron H.
I have fleshed bears,Deer,Racoons ect with the Pressure washer. You have to use a turbo tip that actually sprial cuts. Its about $50..Shop around for you washer, Sam's Club has Porter Cable 3000 psi washers with Kohler engines for about $570. Kohler makes the best commercial engines and Honda is a great second choice. Personaly I wouldn't give $5 to a Briggs engine.
I can completely flesh a deer hide, face and all in about 7 minutes. I have done 8 to 9 an hour. It does indeed remove all membrane.
Warning though. If you do use a pressure washer you ned to salt for at least 1 day. The force of the washer shoves the blood deep into the hide especially near the brisket. Salting will help ensure all is out..

I just wandered if pressure fleshing removes the flesh what about the skin that is needed to tuck-the eyes-lips ect.would this skin be dammaged or do you stay away from these areas? also does it shave the hide thin or do you have to thin down the hyde?
