I am a complete novice!I recently purchased a skull cap on Ebay and it still has alot of membrane type dried stuff on it. I believe this is the leftover from the skinning process. How do I remove it and have just skull and antler? I tried soaking it in water and did manage to clean some of it off. I would like it completely clean though.

soak in warm water, I even heat it on the stove a bit. Then I take a 3" Mikita grinder, with a three inch wire wheel, and just clean it off, be sure to wear googles, I have had wire from the wheel come off. I clean all my antlers and skull plates this way before mounting.rw

Use Arm & Hammer Washing Powder

You can get this at your grocery store in the clothes detergent ilse. Use 1/4 cup per gallon of water, boil water with skull plate in it for about 15 minutes then check, repeat boiling until clean. You can also get some Sal Soda from WASCO, same differance but the Arm & Hammer will be quicker to get if you want to start right now like I would.........
