Need advice on fleshing deer face/eyes/lips

My partner and I have been in business for three years now and would like some tips/advice on easier/faster methods of fleshing our deer faces. Currently we are using a hand held razor blade tool with the deer face stretched over a "snow cone" fleshing tool. This works fine, but we still manage to make a few small cuts in the face and it seems to be very time consuming. Thanks for any help.

You have to get this tool it's great for fleshing and especially final fleshing of tanned hides. I'm a lefty so I think it works best for us, the folkes that use the right side of their brain! They really need to make one for the righties (flip the head around). Rinehart has these, now McKenzie.. Do you have a fleshing machine, once you're good at it, it makes short work of fleshing down the face...

1)i was shown this by another taxidermist - continie to use you inverted funnel but call havel's and order their pathologist's knife and #70 (i think this is the right #) blades - these are handheld raxors about 3" long - they cost about 30 cents a piece - i guarantee this will aid you in what you are doing - you shave with them at a very low angle and it is unbelievable what they will do - the learning curve is about 20 minutes

2) i use this idea on small mammls faces(coon, coyote and fox - deer) - split lips - ears - eyes and throw in krowtann (or whatever pickle you use) - no need to do anything else (especially with krowtann) - take out of pickle and use grinding wheel on bench grinder to r-o-l-l flesh off - this is unbelievabley effective and fast

any other ?'s email me direct - i have been down the road you are traveling b4
