If a deer walked over the line from, say Iowa, Indiana, or Missouri, do you think it would look different? All mannikins are sculpted to the sculptors interpretation of what a whitetail deer looks like. You're going to have to find one where you and the sculpter both agree.

Jody Green...

......Mike, George is very correct.
But you might want to give Jody Green's "Prodigy Series" a try.
He is a fantastic Taxidermist and has been sculpting the "Prodigy" line for Van Dyke's Supply for the past coulpe years. He is a Illinoise Feller and his line is 2nd to none.
This is NOT a plug for VD's. They just look like a White Tail and they fit beautifully for our Northern and Midwest Deer.

Give em a try,
Dave

Check these out! www.hiltoneppleyforms.com They work great for Indiana deer and should for you. Great people to deal with and always happy to help with any questions you might have. Deer mounted on his forms have done VERY well at both National and World level. Good Luck. Jeff F.

Matuska's

Another form to consider is the Matuska's forms, they are really easy to mount on and they are based out of Iowa and the sculptors are form Wisconsin.

29 sub-species of white tail deer

Their are 29 sub-species of white tail deer, and some have bigger heads and bigger shoulders longer heads,so on and so forth. If you are not sure, call your supplier and ask they about the manikin of your choice, and where it come from, skulpted from what area.I am sure that some of you have tried to put a Canadian manikin on some deer from the U.S. , and some worked and some the nose is to big head is to big,and so on. It is much easier to ask then to alter the maniknin.
Just my opinion.
