hi all can someone help me plez i tryed the bondo method for the first tome and i did not get the bondo wright to the tip of the ears could someone plez tell me what i could do about this prob thanks for all the help

more skinning needed

sounds like you did not seperate the skin from the cartilage allll the way out to the ear tips.

If the ear is dry you can hydrate the ear a little and card the tip that will at least stop the curl. Over time it will curl up again and you will have to card again. Thats about all I can tell you.

skin to the tip, but also poke a pin in the tip to release the bubble of air that gets trappped, don't squeeze to hard or you will be chipping bondo out of you deers ear hair

thanks everyone for the help i did split the ears all the way to the tip just failed to get bondo to the tip...

Have you tried taking a large syringe and squirting some thinned bondo or fiberglass resin into the tip? Might be worth a try. You might even be able to squirt some epoxy in there. It depends on how new the ear job is. If it is all dried up and there is no space in there then I think you are out of luck.


rehydrate tip

Although I stopped using the bondo method a while back, I did rehydrate the tips of the ears once and injected thinned bondo into them slowly. It worked but I wouldn't want to make a habbit of needing to do it.
