Dry Preservative

Hi:
Do many of you guys and gals use dry preservative in your shops today for mounting deer? What is the quality and longevity of DP compared to a fully tanned cape?
Thanks,
Allen

The archives are full of this question as well as the debate about it. Hit the orange search button and type dry preserve for more info than you will want to read about it.

LMAO about the "bug" comment

Bugs are the very least worry of DP users. In fact, DP hides will outlast most tanned hides, hands down, because it has a built in insect repellant - BORAX. Even dermistids don't like borax.

Do Not Use the Stuff

DP treated capes tend to crack around the eyes, nose and lips a lot. I wouldn't recomend using the stuff on deer heads.

You guys are still cracking me up

Especially George. .you just contradict your self to much on here. 1 minute your downing dp. and the next your praiseing it. lmao big time. Guys use the best DP ,on the market bess maid. Just make it a major point to flesh your hide as thin as you can. and you will have no worries using dp. Just ask chase. and a few others. Years of use with no worries. but its all just personal preferance each guy has there own favorite preserve wether it be wet tan, dry tan. or dry preserve. its up to you. Ray.
