I recently bought a set of antlers that I would like to mount myself on a cape from a buck that I shot last hunting season. The thing is these antlers were in a tavern and are all smoked yellowish brown.Any ideas how to get them back to there true color without damaging them.Any feed back would be greatly appriciated. Thanks everyone. Jesse

If you are unable to clean them to your satisfaction another option that I had to go to was recoloring them. I had a 160 BC rack that was stained yellow from all the smoke, after cleaning the rack it still retained a unnatural yellow coloring, next I sealed the rack with an acrylic matt topcoat (Krylon) then completely whited out the rack with flat white and then began my coloring process from there. With a final matt topcoat the antlers look natural in color once again
Hope this helps if the cleaning doesn't
