Business question?

Would it be a good idea to require a game check-in ticket from my customers before accepting their deer or whatnot. I want all the business i can get my hands on, but i don't want to be the guy that mounted an illegal deer(you know one that wasn't checked in or killed out of season.) Is this something common among most taxidermists or not.

was legally taken, and the accept responsiblities for such.

Many states dont have any tag for deer after the kill. My state you can call it in. Same for bear. So it would of could cost you money to think its illegal harvested.

That isn't your job

When the state starts paying you to be a game cop, go for it. Otherwise, if its tagged properly, mount it. If you are certain something is indeed illegal, respectfully decline as a good businessman...and turn him in as a good sportsman.
