freezing tanned hide

after i already tanned a hide and place my order for materials should i freeze the cape until i get the shipment in then once i get them rehydrate the cape or could i just leave the tanned cape sitting out cause thats what i did on my last cape and it got pretty hard. what about on a rug mount that skin is still flexible and doesnt get stiff. by the way i use McKenzie tan if that matters anything

Freeze the tanned cape. get it out of thre freezer when you are ready to mount it. And mount it. It will still be wet..... NO NEED TO RE-HYDRATE AT ALL. That is all there is to it, PERIOD.
