I just recieved a mule deer for a full shoulder mount and would like any suggestions on who has the best forms for them. I mostly mount whitetails and not to familiar with mule deer forms. Thanks for any help you can give. Rich

Buckeye, McKenzie and some of the "arger forms"available from the the larger supply companies. The facial features and muzzle are the problem areas on all forms. There have been times that we got some giant "shoulder areas" for some reason. quality swell necks are also a problem for the supply companies. A lot of times these "boys" don't know mule deer. But, hey, if the customer likes it, so be it!
Try to look for a broader muzzle and facial features. Many of the forms available are simply reworked whitetail forms. Of course, this is not the way to go. Most mule deer DO have a broad muzzle and facial areas which are much different from a whitetail. I have requested many times, a better quality mule deer form and I/WE are now starting to sculpt our own line with all of the time saving features and the better quality face........more on that in the future.
Depending on where a mule deer is taken from, there is only a minor difference in other features. For the most part, the mule deer is the larger of the two (mule-whitetail).

This: "arger forms" Should read: "Larger Forms"
Bill Lancaster has a new line of mulie forms sold thru Tru-fitt, and they are awesome. Lancaster knows mulies.
tru-fitt have the most correct forms for mule deer as well as elk , bill knows mulie forms!
I would use a Lancaster. I just used one from Research and it fit great. The eye set is a little off in my opinion, but the rest of the form looks like a mulie for once.
