Did anyone else read the Taxidermy Today Jan/Feb on Doing a Xtra Short Incision!
Well we have just got around to trying it out and let me tell you it cuts way down on sewing! Which is on part of mounting I dont like to do. You just cut the normal V cut and then use a 3 inch wood chisel to cut the skull plate. Just wanted to comment on this helpful tip.

Samething, its been around for yers. Some use an air chisel.
I have been using the cut across the burrs and air chisel for 3 yrs now. Actually thats the way i was taught. But anyways......after doin this I never could understand why some folks want to cut that deer halfway down its neck!
