TOO MUCH SKIN!

Yesterday i finished a buck (for myself) and i had some trouble. The mount was a full sneak/ sweep with the nose up. I Did the ears in the back position and i think that made it worse. Right between and right behind the ears i had the skin bunching up real bad. The cape was a tight fit in the neck which made taxi'ing the skin down the neck tough. Does this usually happen in this position? I made it work to the best of my ability but thats not good enough for me. I tucked as much as i could in the back of the ears (clay bases), but i still have some small rinkles that are even harder to hide cause its on the seam. thanks

that the head on the mannikin was too narrow for your cape. It happens quite a bit that a smaller neck deer has a broader head then is on the mannikin. That's why test fitting before you mount is so important. Remember it is not just the eye to nose measurement and neck measurement that is important on a deer, the width of the head does play an important role as well.
