I recently shot an 8pt WT and would like to mount the antlers on a plaque. The plaque I bought had limited instructions, but came with a velvet peice to cover the remaining skull peice. I made 2 cuts one behind the antlers and one infront 90 degrees to the first. I then got the brain off of the skull and the hide off of the skull. Now I need to know what to do, do I just let it dry. There is a little bit of hair left around the antlers, can I singe this with a lighter to get rid of it or what is the eaisiest way.

Are the mounting kits,you can buy at sport spots anygood? I have never tryed mounting antlers befor,and would like to give it a try.
