caping deer

I've just started taxidermy and i am going to start pa. inst. in jan i have some deer to practice on when a deer comes in froze can i let it thaw enough to finnish capeing it then refreeze it?

It is always better to flesh it once it is thawed out the first time, but in most cases it won't hurt if you refreeze it. The only time I would not do this is if the cape is a iffy/risky cape to begin with.

Becareful when doing this. Yes it can work but everytime you take a green hide out of the freezer and thaw it and then put it back in, can and will cause bacteria growth. There is a product called stop-rot. I would try this out if your going to do that.
