This past weekend I shot a 3X3 mulie that has hard horns but still in the velvet. I have cleaned plenty of regular skulls in the past by boiling and peroxide but this one has me stumped. I'm pretty sure I have access to bugs at our university (connections! Ha!) but am afraid they will get into the velvet and I'm not sure I can control the boiling aspect with the velvet on. I have already removed the the hide, cleaned most of the meat and removed the eyeballs, gotta do the brain cavity yet. Any good suggestions for a guy who just wants to put it on the wall in the shop? (I am NOT a taxidermist - although 25 years ago I had a license)
